Cut. Sit the tablet in the top, close the lid and press. The blade stays covered inside the lid.

Crush. Put the tablet in the base and twist until it's powder.

Carry. The middle keeps the other half, or the next dose, until it's needed.

Not every tablet should be split or crushed. Check with your pharmacist first, and never crush slow-release, coated or under-the-tongue tablets.

When the label says half a tablet, most people reach for a kitchen knife. It's fiddly, it slips, and the other half ends up loose in a drawer. When tablets are hard to swallow, crushing one between two spoons is worse.

Sentra Split does all three jobs in one small case. Halve a tablet with one press, crush one with a twist, and keep the rest with you until the next dose.
