Frequently asked questions
The things people actually ask, in the order they ask them. If yours isn't here, write to us — a real person reads every message.
Sentra Seven
Does it need wifi or an app?
No. No wifi, no app, no account, no password, nothing to pair. It runs on a single CR2032 button battery and works in a house with no internet, for someone who has never had any.
Does it lock?
No. This is an organiser with a reminder, not a locking dispenser — all seven compartments are reachable.
If you're looking after someone who shouldn't have the whole week within reach at once, this isn't the right product for them. Tell us and we'll point you at what is, even if we don't stock it yet.
How loud is the alarm?
Loud enough to be heard in the next room, and it keeps sounding rather than giving up after a few seconds.
How big is it, and how many compartments?
Seven compartments, one for each day of the week. It measures 11cm across and 2cm deep, and weighs 130g — so it fits in a handbag, a coat pocket or a suitcase.
Can it be used without help?
Yes — that's the first of the three tests we apply before stocking anything.
The compartments are marked by day and open individually. Anyone who manages a weekly pill box today will manage this.
Can I set it up before I give it to them?
Yes, and we'd recommend it. Load the week, set the reminder, then hand it over already working. Most people find that lands better than handing over a box and a manual.
Sentra Split
Can I split or crush any tablet?
No. Not every tablet should be split or crushed. Check with your pharmacist first, and never crush slow-release, coated or under-the-tongue tablets.
If swallowing tablets is hard, ask your pharmacist whether the medicine comes as a liquid or a dissolvable tablet. That's often the better answer.
Where does the blade sit?
Inside the lid, not out in the open. Put the tablet in the holder, close the lid and press — that's the only way it cuts.
Where does the other half go?
In the case in the middle. It keeps the other half, or the next dose, until it's needed — so there are no loose halves in a drawer.
Sentra Fourteen
Does Sentra Fourteen have an alarm?
No. It holds a week of doses and drops each one into the cup when you press the button, but it doesn't remind. If you'd like a reminder that sounds on its own, that's Sentra Seven.
How do I fill it for morning and evening?
Start at 1. Odd numbers are mornings and even numbers are evenings: 1 is Monday morning, 2 is Monday evening, and so on to 14 on Sunday evening.
Taking tablets once a day? Use it for a fortnight instead, one number a day.
Does it need fixing to the wall?
No. It stands on its own base, so there's nothing to put up. If the worktop's busy, it can go on the wall instead. Either way, keep it where the day starts: by the kettle works well.
Sentra Carry and Sentra Pocket
Can I fly with medicines in Sentra Carry?
Yes, in your hand luggage. Keep each medicine in its original packaging with the pharmacy label on. For liquid medicines over 100ml, or controlled medicines, carry your prescription or a letter from your GP, and check with the airline before you fly.
What fits in Sentra Pocket?
A few tablets: the dose you need while you're out, not the whole week. For the week, there's Sentra Seven.
Some medicines need to stay in their original packaging until they're taken. If you're not sure, ask your pharmacist.
Sentra Step and Sentra Night
What's the difference between Step and Night?
Sentra Step comes on only when someone moves past in the dark, and runs on a rechargeable battery, so it can go anywhere: up the stairs, along a landing, by the bedroom door.
Sentra Night plugs into a socket. It comes on at dusk, stays on all night at the brightness you choose, and goes off at dawn.
Does Sentra Step need batteries?
No. Each light has a built-in rechargeable battery and charges from the USB cable in the box. The maker quotes up to 4–6 months on a full charge with light use on auto. A busy hallway will need charging sooner.
Do I need to drill or wire anything?
No. Sentra Step sticks to the wall with an adhesive pad and holds on a magnetic plate. Sentra Night plugs straight into a UK socket.
Ordering and delivery
Can I have it delivered to someone else's address?
Yes. Enter a different delivery address at checkout.
We don't put a price, an invoice or any promotional material in the box. Most of our customers are buying for someone else, and we build for that.
How long does delivery take?
Dispatched within 1–3 working days, typically arriving 7–16 days from the day you order. Free UK delivery on everything.
We'd rather tell you that plainly than promise next-day and disappoint you. If you need it urgently, email us before ordering and we'll tell you honestly whether we can get it to you in time.
What if it doesn't suit them?
Send it back. You have 14 days from delivery to tell us, and a further 14 days to return it.
That's your statutory right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, and we don't make it harder than the law allows.
About Sentra
How do you choose what to stock?
Three questions, and most products fail one of them. Can it be used without help? Does it work without wifi? Would we put it in our own family's home?
If a product fails any one of them, it doesn't go in the shop, however well it sells elsewhere.
Is Sentra Seven a medical device?
No. It's a medication reminder and organiser, and it doesn't replace advice from a healthcare professional.
Check with your pharmacist or GP that a weekly organiser suits the prescription, and always follow the instructions that come with the medicines.
Will you stock more than this?
Yes. Sentra Seven came first, then Sentra Split, Sentra Fourteen, Sentra Carry, Sentra Pocket, Sentra Step and Sentra Night. Everything new goes through the same three tests before it appears.
Still not sure whether it's right for them? Tell us the situation and we'll give you a straight answer, even if that means no sale.
